Basset Club in Poland
The History of Basset Club in Poland is not long. The Club was established
many years after The first Basset Hound arrived to Poland. The formation
of a Basset Club in Poland had always been idea of two people - breeders,
international judges and bassets enthusiasts: Ms Małgorzata
Wieremiejczyk-Wierzchowska and Mr Tomasz Mroczek.
The constitution and by-laws were drawn up on an inaugural meeting of a
group of polish Basset Hound breeders, which took place on 28th of April
2002, on the evening preceding the First Club Show, in Mosznacastel (place
very special and well know for polish basset breeders and fanciers ).

Basset Club in Poland has a membership of 120, and it works under the
patronage of Polish Kennel Club with electing ( every 3 years) committees
. The first president of Basset Club in Poland was one of the formers of
The Club - Mr Tomasz Mroczek and Vice President was Ms Małgorzata
Wieremiejczyk-Wierzchowska. Since 2006 Ms Małgorzata
Wieremiejczyk-Wierzchowska became The President of Basset Club in Poland.
Basically Basset Club in Poland organizes annual Basset 's Club Dog Show,
and since 2008 Basset's Speciality Dog Show (CWC/CAC). Basset Club in
Poland does its best to look after the interests of the Breed and promotes
the breeding of purebreed, sound, healthy bassets with breed
characteristic and temperaments according the FCI standards. The
Club also encourages sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field trials
and track test under the rules of Polish Kennel Club and Polish Hunting
Association.
In the early days of the Club a newsletter was published supported 3 years
later by Club's website launched. Nowadays The Club stopped publishing of
newsletter finding its website more effective tool to keep members
informed of events in the Basset world in general and in particular of
other's activities and opinions at home and abroad.
Basset Club in Poland also provides information and advice on puppies
selection, health care, rearing and up-bringing of puppies as well as
exhibitions, breeding and utility.. |
